Accelerating Contraceptive Uptake Through Post-Pregnancy-Care Models in India
These two learning products – a project brief and a technical brief – describe the Ipas Development Foundation’s work to increase contraceptive uptake and continuation after self-managed medical abortion. The project brief describes the operational research initiative aimed at identifying and implementing effective strategies for reaching women who have undergone self-managed medical abortions and devising sustainable solutions for enhancing postabortion contraceptive care in two districts of Uttar Pradesh – Agra and Lucknow. The technical brief documents the pivotal outcomes of a randomized control trial (RCT) conducted to assess the effect of a targeted intervention program designed to support women who had undergone self-managed medical abortion in the Agra and Lucknow districts of Uttar Pradesh, India.
