Jorge Matine

Jorge Matine leads Ipas’s work in Mozambique. He has a wealth of experience in the fields of research and sexual and reproductive health. Prior to joining Ipas, he served as the sexual and reproductive health director at Pathfinder International, Mozambique, with a specific focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights, including safe abortion. He also previously worked with the Centre for Public Integrity (CIP), a watchdog organization in Mozambique working on issues such as transparency and accountability, equity and justice in budgeting for social sectors. Matine has also served as a UN technical advisor for adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health programs in Mozambique. He has a BS in medicine from the School of Medicine at Eduardo Mondlane University and is a member of the social medical faculty of Ostrava University in Czech Republic.
