Director, Ipas Ethiopia
Dr. Demeke Desta is the country director of Ipas Ethiopia. He joined Ipas more than 13 years ago, most recently serving as national program manager in Ethiopia. He is a medical doctor who has spent the majority of his career focused on sexual and reproductive health and rights. Before working with Ipas, he managed and lead programs for several organizations and agencies both in Ethiopia and abroad, including serving as medical director for the Ethiopian Administration for Refugee and Returnee Affairs. He earned his medical degree from Addis Ababa University and has a Masters of Public Health degree from the Erasmus School of Public Health at University Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium.
