Marta María Blandón, Psic, is Country Director of Ipas Central America. Ms. Blandón is a psychologist with extensive experience in training, research, and reproductive health and rights. She has a long history with Ipas in Nicaragua, having served as Program Manager for Ipas and the Ministry of Health for the national postabortion care program from 1991 to 1994. After working as a consultant for four years for international health organizations, Ms. Blandón rejoined Ipas full time in 1998 as Director. She also coordinates the Nicaraguan National Committee for the Fight Against Maternal Mortality; is an active member of the feminist women’s health movement in Latin America and the Caribbean; and is a founding member of the Nicaraguan National Feminist Committee.
