When a young Kenyan girl, an orphan and top-student, became pregnant, she approached her brother, a security officer in a city firm, about what to do with the situation. She was worried that despite all her efforts, her pregnancy would keep her from being admitted to a top school. Her brother brought her to a quack at a backstreet clinic and when the procedure went awry, she bled to death on the table. |
